Painter

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Painter/Powder Coater to join our team. As a Painter/Powder Coater, you will be responsible for applying paint and powder coating finishes to a variety of surfaces, ensuring high-quality and durable results. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in painting and powder coating, as well as the ability to qualify for a government clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking in preparation for painting and powder coating.
  • Select and mix appropriate paints and coatings to achieve desired colors and finishes.
  • Apply paint and powder coating using various techniques such as spraying, dipping, or brushing, ensuring even coverage and proper adhesion.
  • Operate and maintain painting and powder coating equipment, including spray guns, ovens, and curing systems.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment settings to achieve optimal performance and quality.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, imperfections, and adherence to specifications.
  • Make necessary touch-ups and repairs to painted or coated surfaces as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and production rates.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and materials related to painting and powder coating.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in painting and powder coating.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality finishes on various surfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of different painting and powder coating techniques and materials.
  • Ability to interpret and follow specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Experience with operating and maintaining painting and powder coating equipment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to detect and correct defects or imperfections.
  • Excellent color perception and the ability to mix and match paints accurately.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to painting and powder coating.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Eligibility to qualify for a government clearance.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED
